Doerksen Ranch

What a gorgeous weekend! Rolling H Carriage and Fred and Ginger all attended a wedding at Doerksen’s beautiful ranch home in Denair. The weather was absolutely perfect. The bridesmaids wore a beautiful shade of deep purple and the horses wore ribbons and bows to match.

The carriage arrived to collect the bride at a cute little apartment at the back of the property where she had spent the previous hours preparing for her day. The father of the bride pulled a pistol from his tuxedo and fired a blank round into the air to begin the ceremony. When they heard the shot, the carriage drove the bride through an orchard of trees and around a refreshing pool and alongside a small stream that ran through the perfectly manicured lawns near the main house to where the father of the bride and the guests and wedding party waited. Five little nieces of the groom dressed in white ruffles happily sprinkled white rose petals down the aisle and the ceremony began.

After the ceremony was completed, the carriage took the bride and groom away at a fast trot back to the little apartment and the guests retired to a large tent on the lawn for the reception.

Everything flowed perfectly! With the guests happily eating hors d’oeuvres and sipping wine, the photographer was free to capture the day for posterity.

What a whirlwind of a week. The weather was almost unbearable and after that heat wave, the horses should lose the rest of their winter wool and be sleek and shiny for the upcoming spring and summer weddings.

We went to the local AFWPI mixer on Tuesday evening that was held at Turlock’s newest venue, Larsa Hall. Got to meet several nice people who provide services for weddings and …What a wonderful place!

The décor is new and lavish in lovely earth tones that would provide a good background for whatever color someone chooses to decorate the tables with. I didn’t catch the specific details, but the hall looks like it could seat 1000 people. It also has plenty of parking spots. Oh, and the parking lot is deep so it would provide for a grand entrance with horses and carriage.

They’re planning to put in an outdoor area for wedding ceremonies in the back and that will just add to the excellence.

We’ll be there later in the year and will let you know how it went.

Fred and Ginger are providing services for a funeral this week. They behave so properly that those ceremonies are especially touching and memorable. We’re not alone in thinking that God loves horses and they do a great job of delivering a loved one to their resting place.

We also have a wedding at a venue that we haven’t visited before. I’m looking forward to getting some pictures there. The bride loved the new Cinderella carriage, but the groom had something more masculine in mind. They’ll be using the white Vis a Vis. The wedding colors are deep purple and silver and white. Those will look sooo pretty on white manes. Next time we write, we’ll let you know how it went. See you soon!
